The Story.

Anike is an award-recognized Christian hip hop artist (Christian rapper) and music industry educator known for breaking barriers at the highest levels of faith-based and mainstream culture. Formerly known as Wande, Anike is widely recognized as the first female Christian rapper to achieve major commercial success, paving the way for women in Christian hip-hop while maintaining a bold, uncompromising faith.

In a defining moment of spiritual alignment, she transitioned from her former legal Muslim and Yoruba religious names, Mutiat and Yewande, to the name Anike—short for Ireoluwa-Anike, meaning “the goodness of God; someone cherished, deeply loved, and cared for.” This name change marked a new chapter rooted in identity, obedience, and a commitment to honoring God in every aspect of her life and career.

As a Christian rapper and recording artist, Anike has consistently made history. She became the first female Christian rapper announced to perform on the main stage at Rolling Loud, one of the world’s largest hip-hop festivals, solidifying her presence in both Christian and mainstream music spaces. She has also delivered main stage performances at the Dove Awards and the Stellar Awards, further establishing her as a leading voice in Christian hip hop. In addition, Anike has been invited to the White House and has performed at Universal Studios, marking significant milestones in her expanding cultural reach.

Anike was also selected as one of the featured faces of the GRAMMYs’ official social media campaigns, reflecting her growing influence beyond genre boundaries. She is a multiple-time Female Artist of the Year winner, receiving the honor at both the Black Christian Influencers Award Show and the Kingdom Choice Awards, recognizing her excellence, impact, and leadership within Christian culture.

Her music career includes touring alongside Lecrae, KB, Andy Mineo, Tedashii, Hulvey, 1K Phew, and WhatUpRG, as well as collaborations with TobyMac, Maverick City Music, Terrian, Naomi Raine, Jekalyn Carr, Alex Jean, and more. She has also contributed to Grammy-nominated and Billboard #1 projects, including The Maverick Way.

She made history as the first female rapper signed to Reach Records, the influential independent label that helped shape modern Christian hip-hop. Her work has earned recognition from cultural leaders including Michelle Obama and Kirk Franklin through public inspiration playlists.

Beyond music, Anike is a respected music industry educator and artist mentor. Through her bestselling e-books and digital resources, she teaches independent artists how to release music strategically, build sustainable careers, and integrate faith with excellence and business. Her passion for pouring into the next generation is evident through her teaching at the Victory Church Business Summit (Atlanta), Girl Evolve during the Woman Evolve Conference at the Georgia World Congress Center, the Gospel Music Association Online Artist Course, and through her role as a GRAMMY U Mentor.

Anike’s influence extends into major media and culture, with features in ESPN and Apple commercials, performances at Essence Festival, and television appearances including TBN’s Girl Talk. Online, her viral faith-based content—such as Hallelujah Roll Call—has reached millions, blending humor, beauty, and biblical truth in a way that resonates across generations.

With millions of annual streams, global reach, and a growing community of listeners, Anike continues to redefine what it means to be a Christian rapper in today’s world—bridging faith, culture, and excellence with confidence and grace.

Anike is not only shaping Christian hip-hop—she is shaping how Christians engage culture.
